You need to think twice if you are planning to eat out especially when you are on a weight loss plan. Most of the menu’s present in the hotels are not planned for the healthy eaters!
One way is to plan when to eat out so you can put the extra calories aside that day to make up for your meal at the restaurant later in the day. The extra calories that add up to your meals is a bread roll with butter or flavored oil, olives marinated in oil, french fries, oil based salad dressings, cream with dessert and coffee after dinner.
If all these can be avoided you can save up to a lot of calories and putting on those extra pounds. You can even customize your meals by asking the chef for a dish that suits your personal needs. This can be requesting that a sauce be served in a separate bowl so you can add as you desire. Ask for steamed vegetables instead of potatoes along with steak. Prefer steak or grilled food rather than pan fried and make sure your salad comes without the extra dressing.
Vegetarian food is not always healthy as you think, like cauliflower and broccoli bake might sound healthy but may be topped with rich calorie laden cheese sauce. Meat, poultry and fish can be taken after removing the extra fats. A grilled lean steak with salad without the fries may contain lesser calories.
Pasta can also be a good choice provided it comes with a tomato sauce rather than a creamy one.
In dessert, fresh fruit salad or sorbets are the best options. So eating out and weight loss go together.
