Hoodia In The News

Hoodia Gordonii is shaking up the weight loss market, and is at last answering the needs of many looking to lose weight, without having to make drastic changes in their diets or having to sign up to a military camp to get into exercise!

Hoodia first came to public attention in the late nineties -  and various media reports, including Tom Mangold’s BBC report started to emmerge about a revolutionary cactus type plant called Hoodia Gordonii, which was used by the South African tribes to help suppress their hunger pangs.

Food to these tribes in the Kalahari region was and still is to some degree, which ment that nomadic tribesmen had to hunt for food – often for days without nourishment. Thanks to the powder from the Hoodia Gordonii plant, these huntsmen would be able to last for days without feeling the ill effect of going without any food.

This has led to a few companies including Unique Hoodia, and Pure Hoodia to cultivate this plant in South Africa, and to lead research and clinical tests to ensure the plant was safe for consumption and to test the effects. The result of these years of research has led to the effective pills available today.

Hoodia Gordonii has been quoted by CBS news as having the potential to fight the West’s most dangerous and ‘self-inflicted disease obesity’, and news of the many men and women getting results every day are hitting the headlines of many lifestyle magazines, TV programmes and newspapers.

Nicole O’Neil – Lifestyle editor, MSN UK has been quoted saying: “I tried Pure Hoodia over a two-week period and found that taking it twice a day did help to reduce my appetite.”

“Hoodia works because it contains a previously unknown molecule that tricks the brain into thinking you are already full, when in fact you haven’t eaten a thing. Hoodia has been linked with a number of celebrities—Desperate Housewives Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria, Nicole Richie and Angelina Jolie are all rumoured to have used it to help control their weight.”

“This small cactus-like plant found in the Kalahari Desert contains a magic ingredient in its spikes, which the San bushmen rely on to stave off hunger and thirst while on hunting trips. The magic molecule, called P-57, causes your brain to send nerve impulses that tell your body you’ve eaten. Who’s doing it? The Desperate Housewives ladies!”

Tatler“A super-svelte friend recommended hoodia gordonii—a herb used by a tribe in the Kalahari desert to suppress appetite when food is in short supply. Ring Pure Hoodia.”

Take a Break
“Karen was a size 16. After two months on Pure Hoodia™, she tried on a T-shirt that she knew was too small for her. It was a 12 and it now fitted.”

With no known side effects, Hoodia is very different to the many other diet stimulants out there, and because it is 100% natural, you can be sure that your body is not ingesting any nasty chemicals.

As with many products there are many companies selling Hoodia based pills, be wary of any which don’t state 100% pure Hoodia powder. We recommend Unique Hoodia, and Pure Hoodia as both have gone through extensive clinical testing, and are both certified and recognised by leading medical and nutrition experts.
