“A drink a day may keep woman’s weight gain away” – study
According to a new research, it is known that women can reduce their chances of gaining weight if they consume one to two alcoholic drinks a day.
The study found that women in the age group of 39 and above who consumed light to moderate use of alcohol were less likely to gain weight as compared to women who drank no alcohol.
Moderate alcohol consumption is said to have other health benefits as well. Drinking one or two glasses of red wine a day helps protect against heart diseases. HDL, known as ‘good cholesterol’ helps remove plaque from the coronary artery. Many studies have shown that drinking one to two glasses of red wine a day has a positive effect on HDL and hence helps protect against heart disease.
Red wine consists of resveratrol which has heart healthy benefits. It prevents the red blood cells from clumping together thus reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
